Mayoral presentation for Royal Exchange Theatre employment and skills project

Mayoral presentation for Royal Exchange Theatre employment and skills project

Last week, seven participants from the Tameside Women and Families Centre met with the Mayor of Tameside to celebrate their participation and achievements in the Royal Exchange Theatre employment and skills project.

Mayor of Tameside, Leigh Drennan, opened his Mayor’s parlour for the participants to celebrate their achievements with a special cake before the official presentation commenced.

The Mayor presented the participants with certificates for the Team Work accreditation before presenting special awards from himself for their involvement in the project.

They then enjoyed a short tour of the parlour and learned about the artefacts of historical significance on display. Following this, everyone got a chance to be photographed holding the Mayor’s mace.

The project has helped three New Charter tenants secure jobs with the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

After the presentation, those involved shared their experience with the project in an interview at Dukinfield Hub. It was clear the project had a positive impact, not just on their lives, but the lives of their families. The feedback from them was incredibly uplifting and positive.

We are now working on plans for the second year of the project with the Royal Exchange Theatre.
