Get Oldham Working Jobs Fair 2019

The 2019 Get Oldham Working Jobs Fair took place on Thursday 26 September at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.

The fair was a great opportunity for our tenants to explore the opportunities currently available to them. There were over 65 employers in attendance and over 2,000 work related opportunities were available. Organisations engaged closely with attendees as they looked to fill recruitment opportunities available on the day.

With a variety of jobs, apprenticeships and work experience openings on offer from employers across the borough and beyond, it was a great chance for attendees to meet potential employers – whether they were looking for work or a new challenge.

Sainsbury’s, Metrolink and Mitchells & Butlers were among some of the employers attending the event; alongside Manchester Airport Academy, Housing Units, Primark, Greater Manchester Police, the North West Ambulance Service and more.

The Neighbourhood Engagement team also took part in engaging our residents and local people to explore career opportunities. They offered support and guidance, signposting attendees to relevant services such as our work clubs and the training courses we offer. We also helped people complete application forms for our current vacancies.

Training opportunities were also on show for those residents who were looking to develop a certain skill set. The fair was a huge success and was attended by more than 2,000 people.
